Today I walked around with Bobby to the train station and all around the Jewish Ghetto for 3 hoursish...did you know that Venice is where the term "Ghetto" was created. "The word historically referred specifically to the Venetian Ghetto in Venice, Italy, where Jews were required to live; it derives from the Venetian gheto, and referred to the area of the Cannaregio sestiere, the site selected for the Ghetto Nuovo where a foundry cooled the slang (campo gheto)." (Wikipedia). The area was beautiful, and quite and empty which is a big difference from the rest of Venice, it's crawling with tourists, although i'm told this is only the beginning...but i truly can't imagine there being more!
Then this evening I cooked dinner. It was delicous. I made a pasta sauce, tristan made chicken that went in the pasta, and we had bread with oil...I was out friday and grabbed a slice of pizza and they happened to have bread that looked fantastic...and it was.
My Pasta Creation:
1 kilo of cherry tomatoes cut in half
4 cloves of garlic
1 tsp of pepperoncino
1 1/2 packages of spinach
1/2 a bottle of wine
1/4 cup of oil
it was pretty fabulous if i do say so myself...see pictures below
